Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Solutions Designer to join the Digital Transformation team on a 12-month fixed term contract. The role will be responsible for providing technical expertise on a number of small, Agile projects to build modular, easily rolled-out business solutions by developing collaborative tools built on the University’s Office 365 platform.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and build a series of collaborative tools on the Office 365 platform.
  • Articulate and deliver solutions across the wider Office 365 product set and remain current with the latest changes. 
  • Provide technical expertise on a number of small, Agile projects to build modular, easily rolled-out business solutions.
  • Provide intelligent solutions that are quick to deliver and easily supported.
  • Collaborate with product owners to find elegant and usable solutions to business challenges, creating prototypes/MVPs to help communicate concepts and applying broad and functional knowledge to solve problems.
  • Build and maintain appropriate productive relationships or networks of contact. 
  • Build and sustain appropriate positive and productive working relationships. 
  • Create and sustain an appropriate image and profile of the area of work. 
  • Consult widely to obtain several perspectives. 
  • Demonstrate credibility with stakeholders. 

Ō pūmanawa - About you

You will be a highly capable and experienced Solutions Designer with SharePoint/O365 expertise who provides technical solutions to the University’s Office 365 platform.

You will be responsible for managing and administering our SharePoint and Teams sites. You will also support our Digital Solutions projects.

You will demonstrable the ability to create a positive experience for end-users. You will be someone whose expertise results in smooth integration and efficient online collaboration.

Key Requirements:

  • A solid background in the IT industry, with demonstrated and sound skills in systems analysis, software development and design, support and issue resolution.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365, Teams and SharePoint Online development & configuration using SharePoint Framework, Power Automate, Power Apps and Azure Function Apps.
  • Proven capability with the following frameworks & languages: C# & .NET, React and PowerShell.
  • Ability to build highly effective relationships with team colleagues and customers.
  • Demonstrated experience in project development, lifecycles, methodologies, and scoping.
  • Demonstrated experience in working across a number of projects simultaneously.
