Āu Mahi | What You Will Do
This role is responsible for managing UC's social media presence, crafting compelling content, and contributing to the strategic planning and implementation of impactful campaigns. Your responsibilities extend to generating regular performance reports, playing a vital role in positioning UC as a premier educational institution. Your efforts will be crucial in attracting a diverse pool of prospective undergraduate and postgraduate students, both locally and internationally, by executing effective social media strategies.

You will support the Senior Social Media Editor in overseeing the strategic direction and optimising performance of UC's social media channels and campaigns across all social media platforms (Meta, Instagram, Tik Tok, Wee chat, Weibo and Bilibili). This encompasses all faculties, departments, and units within the University of Canterbury, ensuring a optimized social media presence.

Mōu | Who You Are

A successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' experience in a social media/digital marketing role along with the following:

  • Demonstrated experience managing social media channels and/or digital campaigns for a large company or organisation
  • Experience in monitoring multiple digital channels and tailoring content for different platforms
  • Shown ability in editing and producing video content to create visually appealing and impactful videos for social media content for Instagram and YouTube
  • Experience in Digital Asset Management (DAM) including the ability to edit and organise media for online use.
  • Can support or coach other people to improve business outputs
  • Strong communication skills including building effective relationships with senior stakeholders and clients, gathering requirements, managing expectations and offering innovative solutions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Photoshop, and project management tools
  • Active interest in digital trends including mobility and emerging technologies
