Are you passionate about engaging with online communities and keen to be part of the AUT's social media team? We are striving to be NZ's most social university and we have a real belief in the power of storytelling and conversations.

We are looking for a Social Media Advisor to help manage our content creation and campaigns across all our social channels. You'll be instrumental in building on our strategy and help bring our story and brand to life! We are all about experimenting and telling stories in new and different ways and want someone to help produce dynamic content to help take AUT's social media presence to the next level.

In this role, you will be managing our official university social media channels. You will be actively creating and scheduling content that is relevant to our audiences looks good and is engaging. 

You'll get to utilise your creative skills with photography, content writing, design, be instrumental in creating multi-channel campaigns, and have fun covering events on our social media channels.

You'll also be working on monthly reporting, reviewing analytics, monitoring our social media channels, and working with our marketing team on campaigns and software integrations.

Using your PR and communication skills, you will also put your community manager hat on and help the Social Media Manager take care of queries, comments, and questions from our channels.

Visual storytelling is an important part of the role, and you need to be able to write well, have a sense of what great content is, respond and adapt to trends, and be prepared to innovate and create.

As part of the role, you will work with stakeholders from across AUT to support our wider staff social media community in building AUT's profile and reputation through creating campaigns, sharing content, and providing best practice social media advice.

  • You have a keen eye for detail, you are creative, and can also be analytical
  • You are proactive, you are responsible, diligent, with a get-things-done approach.
  • You have fab communication skills and can build relationships with stakeholders.
  • You are passionate about social media and be up to date with latest best practice.
  • You will ideally have a presence on social media OR have done social media management.
  • You have experience in design, branding, strategy, writing, PR, photography or similar.
