Service Desk Analyst

18 month fixed-term role managing customer communication, incidents & service requests from initial analysis through to resolution. 

Mō te tūka | The role

We are seeking applications for IT Service Analyst to join the team in Information Technology Services (ITS). The Service Desk is the 'face' of ITS within the University community and manages customer communication, incidents and service requests from initial analysis through to resolution.

Due to an internal secondment, we now have a fixed term opportunity available where you will be involved in a variety of tasks such as:

  • Rapid response to teaching support.
  • Service requests.
  • Analysis and diagnosis of software and hardware issues.
  • Operational and maintenance related tasks.
  • Intermittent project related activities.

This is a fixed-term role ending September 2025 working 37.5 hours per week based at our Lincoln Campus. Remuneration for this role is up to $65,000 per annum depending on experience.

Kā tino Pūkeka/Whēako | Essential skills/experience for the role

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • A tertiary or relevant business qualification in computing or equivalent.
  • The support of an extensive range of application software utilised in teaching, learning and research activities (including Microsoft Office).
  • An in-depth knowledge of enterprise identity management systems.
  • The ability to maintain and support an expansive computing environment including hardware and software interfaces for specialist equipment.
  • The ability to review and improve incident tracking systems and processes.
  • Experience in process-oriented technical analysis and support of diverse computing hardware and software environments.
  • Experience with support provision across varied operating systems; Win, Mac and Linux, ideally platform agnostic.
  • Experience in developing, maintaining and presenting technical as well as user support documentation.
