Position Overview

Te Rewa o Puanga is recruiting a Technical Demonstrator, Senior Technician – Broadcast to help build, then run, our Broadcast Studio and support our Factual Production major. This role will attract someone with experience in live television, streaming, or development of factual screen content, with a desire to share their knowledge with others.

As the ideal candidate, you will have demonstrated experience in field and broadcast studio production as well as solid knowledge of camera, sound, vision mixing, graphics, and other technologies associated with broadcast studio and factual production in a three-year fixed term appointment.

This role will see you working on a day to day basis, with students, staff, and outside parties to help run a broadcast studio on our Wellington Campus, working on a variety of creative productions. You will also be working with academic staff to help develop and deliver teaching content.

It is staffed by internationally acclaimed and award-winning practitioners and is equipped with state of the art facilities, including one of the largest and most high-tech recording studio complexes in the region.  

The School delivers two undergraduate degree programmes, the Bachelor of Screen Arts with Honours (starting 2023) and the Bachelor of Commercial Music. The BSA(Hons) offers majors in Film Production, Factual Production, Animation, Game Development, Immersive Media, VFX and Media Technology. The Bachelor of Commercial Music offers majors in Music Practice, Music Technology and Music Industry.

The School also offers an Honours programme for Commercial Music as well as a Master of Creative Enterprise (MCE). The MCE is designed for students who are looking to apply professional strategies intrinsic to creative disciplines to develop and commercialise their practice.
