Position Overview

Our Optimisation Team are looking for an experienced Senior SOE Engineer, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role. The Optimisation Team sits within the Infrastructure and Operations section of Information Technology Services.

This position will be based at our Manawutū campus (Palmerston North).

The primary purpose of this position is to maintain and support our Standard Operating Environment, as well as our existing Managed Operating Environments. 
You will participate in several exciting projects and initiatives aimed at optimising the delivery of services provided to Massey staff and students. 

This position will focus on VDI (VMware Horizon), requiring extensive experience in the setup, management and delivery of Horizon Virtual Desktop Pools and associated technologies.You will also need experience in the following areas:
• Azure AD and Intune
• Software packaging and deployment
• Operating system patching, upgrades and maintenance
• Business Analysis (desirable)
• Design and implementation of managed operating environments
• Support and maintenance of standard operating environment
• Device Lifecycle management
• Writing SOPs (desirable)
• Reporting, e.g. Writing Power BI reports (desirable)
• Project work (desirable)
• Delivering change with a focus on action and urgency

We’re looking for someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills combined with a positive team approach. You will have good written and verbal skills, be organised and capable of communicating at both a business and technical level.
