Position Overview

Our Optimisation Team are looking for an experienced Senior SOE Engineer, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role. The Optimisation Team sits within the Infrastructure and Operations section of Information Technology Services.

This position can be based on any of our campuses being Auckland, Palmerston North, or Wellington.

The primary purpose of this position is to maintain and support our Standard Operating Environment, as well as our existing Managed Operating Environments.

You will participate in several exciting projects and initiatives aimed at optimising the delivery of services provided to Massey staff and students.

The successful applicant will have experience in the following areas:

• Azure AD and Intune
• VDI (preferably VMware)
• Software packaging and deployment
• Operating system patching, upgrades, and maintenance
• Business Analysis (desirable)
• Design and implementation of managed operating environments
• Support and maintenance of standard operating environment
• Device Lifecycle management
• Writing SOPs (desirable)
• Reporting, e.g. creating Power BI reports (desirable)
• Project work (desirable)
• Delivering change with a focus on action and urgency

Our team is focused on automating any repetitive tasks, simplifying and improving business processes, reducing complexity and increasing efficiency of all services provided to Massey staff and students, through the use of the latest and greatest, fit for purpose technology.

We’re looking for someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills combined with a positive team approach. You will have good written and verbal skills, be organised and capable of communicating at both a business and technical level.
