AskOtago is the first point of contact for IT Support and troubleshooting for University staff and students.

You will play a key part in this team, working to assist with a wide range of technology queries and questions, and working with other technical teams to triage and resolve more technical problems as required.

We are looking for people with an interest or passion in the area of Information Technology to join our IT support team for the wider University. This is a role with the potential to provide you with some amazing experience, working on one of New Zealand’s top ten largest network sites.

A real blend of spot-on problem solving, and customer support, with plenty of opportunities to engage with and assist a fantastic range of people.

The role/Te mahi

Key tasks include:
•    Providing subject matter expertise in the area of Information Technology.
•    Helping to troubleshoot issues with Cisco phones or networking equipment.
•    Assisting staff and students with issues across both PC and Mac platforms.
•    Administration and support using Active Directory, Blackboard, and Office 365.
•    Creating a positive relationship in all customer interactions.
•    Serving as an escalation point and source of guidance for the Service Representatives.

This is an exciting IT role for people that want to gain experience working in a large and complex enterprise environment, supporting more than 20,000 users.

Ideally, you will have:
•    Previous customer service experience.
•    A strong sense of pride and passion.
•    Good written and verbal communication skills.
•    A desire to learn more and grow your IT skills and career.

This is a permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week) position.

Customer service is integral to AskOtago; it is therefore important we are available to answer queries 7 days a week. Staff work on a rostered basis. Hours on the full-time roster will be discussed at interview stage.
