Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Senior Oracle Developer to join the Strategy and Planning group on a full-time, fixed-term basis through to 20 December 2024. This role is responsible for helping to deliver the 2024 data warehouse and reporting programme of work. This involves working within an Agile development team; providing expert technical advice and analysis, designing for and developing the University’s Enterprise Data Warehouse, integrating external systems, and transforming data for reports that strengthen data driven decision making in support of the University’s strategic goals.

You will have excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, and an interest in data and how data can be used to support strategic decision making. You keep calm under pressure and manage your time efficiently. You enjoy working as part of a team, while also being an organised self-starter.
Key requirements:
- Proven experience in application development and Oracle relational database technology including SQL & PL/SQL.
- Experience with reporting tools, e.g., Power BI.
- Proven understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Proven/demonstrated ability to investigate, develop and deliver high quality IT solutions.
- Ability to pick-up and become productive in new technology and tools.
- Ability to develop complex solutions that combine technologies in a seamless and robust manner.

Role Description
