  • Seeking academic expertise in Business and Law with particular emphasis on Matauranga Maori
  • Utilise your passion for curriculum development and research that matters
  • Six month, half-time (0.5 FTE)

Auckland University of Technology (AUT) is a university of opportunity where all students with talent and potential have the chance to succeed. We have a hugely diverse body of students, staff, and partners and a clear vision expressed through our Te Tiriti Responsiveness Framework (Te Aronui) and cornerstone Ki Uta Ki Tai Student Success Plan which aims to ensure a cohesive approach for the University to achieve its commitments and ambitions for student success, inclusion and belonging. We are a socially driven university with equity and excellence central to our purpose and actions, and we offer a stimulating teaching and research environment with strong connections to government, business, and industry. AUT has more than 26,000 students and over 3,800 staff based primarily at our three Auckland teaching campuses.

Our Faculty of Business, Economics, and Law is dynamic, vibrant, and focused on developing innovative and cross-disciplinary approaches to research and teaching, as appropriate. We have an opportunity for a half-time position for six months arising from key colleagues taking sabbatical leave in semester 2 this year. We are proud of our high-quality teaching and strong research with a focus on both high-quality academic publications and social impact.

The Role

This six-month half-time role is designed to help us implement Te Aronui at the Faculty level and in our business and law curricula.

Applicant must have a background in curriculum development with a focus on Tikanga and Mātauranga Māori.

As well as advising us on the implementation of Te Aronui at the Faculty level, you will be able to help us in the refresh and redesign of courses in our Bachelor of Business (BBus) and Bachelor of Laws (LLB) programmes, particularly. You will also help teach and/or supervise student projects, most likely as part of our Maori and Indigenous Business Minor in the BBus. You may be involved in some teaching or guest lectures in business or law, as appropriate. We embrace practice-led, as well as research-informed approaches to teaching where the student experience is optimised. You will be expected to spend some time on research in your specialised field.

You will have an open, engaging, and collaborative attitude that is flexible to changing requirements. You will enhance the positive energy and collegiality within the Faculty and must embrace and value diversity and enjoy working inclusively with students and colleagues!
