Position Overview

The School of Built Environment at Massey University (SBE) is the premier provider of built environment higher education in New Zealand and beyond. Whilst fully embracing its strengths in learning and teaching, SBE has also been making its mark in built environment research. Recently, the School has been awarded a major 5-year research grant from the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment in New Zealand totalling $ 9.9M to improve the construction industry in New Zealand. The School is currently seeking to appoint an exceptional individual to take up the role of Senior Lecturer in or Associate Professor of Built Environment to strengthen its dynamic and rapidly growing team.

Are you the high calibre of candidate we are looking for?

In this appointment, you will be expected to lead and contribute to learning, teaching and supervision, research and enterprise, as well as academic citizenship activities in the School. You will have a PhD degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, building science, civil engineering or similar, as well as a good record of research and publications relevant to the Built Environment, including but not limited to design management, construction management or facilities management as well as the interface between these project stages. In addition to proven ability in curriculum development and delivery, an excellent publication track record and experience applying and securing competitive grant proposals is required (leading successful research grant applications and subsequent delivery for AP). A proven record of successful research supervision (up to completion) at Postgraduate level is required (PhD completion for AP).
