We are looking for an enthusiastic economic researcher who is familiar withissues of major environmental concern to New Zealand and the Pacific region, such as biodiversity, ecosystem services, land-use change, water, climate change mitigation and adaptation, resource constraints, and sustainable growth.
About the opportunity
The purpose of this role is to conduct research using social science (including economics) to inform and enhance public policies that foster environmentally sustainable resource use and economic growth in New Zealand and the Pacific.
This position is open term (permanent), full time and is based at our Hamilton site. The anticipated start date for the successful applicant is 30 March 2020.
You will possess a PhD in economics, natural resource/environmental economics, agricultural economics, economic geography, public policy, or other relevant discipline. You will have experience undertaking research with strong policy implications and/or experience working in the public sector, and have skills in preparing revenue-generating proposals.
