The role

The Faculty of Dentistry invites applications for a fixed-term position as Senior Dental House Surgeon, commencing in January 2022.

As a Senior Dental House Tutor, you will be expected to be a leader in a team of five Dental House Surgeons, with orientation and mentoring new Dental House Surgeons as part of the role.

You will be a member of staff of the Faculty of Dentistry and work for the University of Otago. It is expected you will further develop and consolidate skills and knowledge in hospital and acute dental care. You will have an opportunity to learn and work with dental specialists in the Faculty of Dentistry, as well as medical consultants in the hospital.

Your skills and experience

•    Be registered with the Dental Council (New Zealand) and had clinical experience since graduation.
•    Previous experience as a Dental House Surgeon, and familiarity with DHB and hospital systems in New Zealand would be advantageous.

Further details

This is a full-time, fixed term position for one year commencing Friday, 7 January 2022. An earlier start date, by mutual agreement, could be negotiated.
