AUT Hospitality Services offers comprehensive conference and event management service at AUT's four campuses as well as a range of venues in and around Auckland.
We require an experienced, enthusiastic and dedicated person to become an essential part of our conference team to work closely with our Faculties, Professional Staff and Events departments to ensure the successful management and delivery of conferences at AUT.
The successful applicant will be positive, flexible, and well organised with a strong customer focus and extremely professional.
This position reports directly to the Conferences Team Leader whom you will be assisting in delivering high end international and domestic professional and academic conferences.
Aside from knowing what "PCO" or "abstract management" is, the successful applicant will be positive, flexible, and well organised with a strong customer focus and extremely professional.
Having attributes such as confidence, being methodical, logical & initiative-taking, being a good listener & having strong attention to detail are all extremely advantageous to securing this position.
The role demands that you take total ownership of your conferences and client liaison, often with committees, prioritising your workload along the way.
A thorough understanding of the requirements involved in managing and coordinating "Association" type conferences is essential.

Successful candidates should ideally possess:
- Understanding of Event Management Systems such as Ungerboeck
- CMS experience in super user-friendly systems such as Weebly or Word Press
- An excellent level of proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office - Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Some layout experience in Adobe programs such as In-design and Photoshop desirable.
- Strong experience in administration, financial management and reporting essential.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Previous coordination experience in conference and events essential.
- Current clean New Zealand Motor vehicle license.
- Diploma/Bachelor in Event Management or Business (not essential).
Note that you must be currently eligible to work in New Zealand.
Salary Range:
$60,909- $72,574
