Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Senior Administrator in the Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor and Dean, Wellington School of Business and Government on a fixed term contract until August 2022 due to an internal secondment. The role will support the Associate Deans, Learning & Teaching and International & Accreditation, contributing significantly to the portfolio responsibilities held by these two positions, as well as participating in the strategic priorities of the Business School.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Learning and Teaching Portfolio Support including activities related to assurance of learning, curriculum mapping, staff and tutor workshops to enhance the effectiveness of learning and teaching across the Business School
  • International and Accreditation Portfolio Support including activities related to the internationalisation of WSBG programmes and courses, administrative support and project management for accreditation including the forthcoming renewal proposal of the faculty’s EQUIS accreditation
  • Operational Support which includes project management, event and committee support through to transactional finance and HR processes.

You will be a highly organised self-starter and natural relationship builder, who relishes working autonomously as well as contributing positively to a high performing team. You will need effective time management and forward planning to balance meeting deadlines and project goals, alongside the ability to maintain a high standard of service. The ability to remain calm under pressure and thrive working with a diverse range of stakeholders are important attributes you will bring to the role.

Key Requirements:

  • Demonstrable administrative skills based on a minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience.
  • Highly developed communication and analytical skills, with the ability to express complex matters in an accurate and consider form.
  • Demonstrable experience in planning, prioritising and managing conflicting workloads on time and to budget.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in MS Office applications, and experience using database systems.
  • Demonstrated client-centred approach and service delivery experience.
  • Experience working with large volumes of information at a detailed level.
  • Commitment to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi and tikanga Māori.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and work in collaborative peer and other stakeholder relationships.
