Second Engineer - NIWA Vessels - NIWA

We have a great opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced seagoing engineer to join the team on the research vessel Tangaroa. 

What you will be doing:

This position reports to the Chief Engineer and contributes to the watchkeeping, maintenance and engineering needs of the vessel's mechanical and electrical plant systems.

What you will bring:

To be successful in this role you will be a Marine Engineer Class 2 with 2+ years sea time in an engineering role. You are motivated and understand the importance of excellent team dynamics and collaboration. Physical fitness and a positive outlook will be assets in performing your duties.  You are at home with the varying conditions of the sea and the undertaking of multi week voyages. Offshore, commercial fishing and / or research vessel experience would be desirable.
