Te āhuatunga a te tūrunga/About the role

The School of Clinical Sciences has an exciting opportunity to appoint a School Registrar.

As the School Registrar, you will be responsible for managing the academic administration and quality of the diverse academic programmes that run within the School of Clinical Sciences, interfacing with Faulty and University-wide systems and requirements. The School of Clinical Sciences is the largest provider of clinical education programmes in Australasia, offering programmes that lead to registration and/or practice in Aotearoa New Zealand, in nursing, oral health, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, podiatry, paramedicine, counselling and psychotherapy, psychology and neuroscience, perioperative practice, and midwifery.

The School Registrar role facilitates Te Tiriti o Waitangi-focused outcomes and strategic academic developments that comply with University policy and regulations, and Faculty and School practices and systems. In this role, you will liaise with a range of academic, cultural, and professional staff, across the University, to ensure clinical education programmes are aligned with AUT's strategic priorities and coherent delivery and development of programmes across AUT. You will also represent the School, and advocate on our behalf, to Faculty, and, at times, within university-wide forums, as well as with external tertiary institutions, accreditation and approval bodies.

We are looking for a candidate with a detailed knowledge of AUT/university academic regulations, policies, procedures, and practices.  You will need a minimum of five years of experience in an academic administrative role, experience with academic quality systems and processes, and experience with university administrative systems. Excellent communication and self-management skills, and a high-level working knowledge of MS Office, and other applications and platforms, are also essential. As the School is embedding Te Tiriti at the centre of our leadership, teaching and learning, research, resources, capacity, recruitment, retention, promotion, staff wellbeing, spaces, and environment, an understanding of  Te Tiriti o Waitangi in tertiary education; knowledge and practice in the principles of equity and diversity; and basic te reo Māori me ona tikanga, and a willingness to build understanding, are required.
