Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a School Administrator (permanent role). The role will be a key member of the administrative team in all aspects of looking after the many courses and programmes offered by the School of Education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer service – ensures provision of accurate and timely advice to staff, students and visitors via all communication channels.
- Course administration – maintains a high level of accuracy and service for all course-related work, including course information such as Nuku/Canvas support.
- General administration support for all course related work. Willing to carry out all the usual administrative tasks of a modern office environment.
- Able to support our programmes in terms of enrolment and follow up processes. Also being willing to support our professional programmes that the School is part of.
Ō pūmanawa - About you
You will be a motivated, customer focused individual who enjoys administration and is able to work well in a small team. A key customer we support is our own academic staff.
The daily work demands can change so you will need to be flexible in your approach and responsive while maintaining an excellent manner with our customers who can be other administrators around the university or academics.
You will be a highly organised worker who is comfortable working autonomously as well as contributing to a high performing team. You will need effective time management and forward planning to balance meeting deadlines and maintain a high standard of service to both students and staff. The ability to remain calm under pressure and thrive working with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Key Requirements:
- Demonstrates a high level of competence and accuracy using databases, web-based applications and operating in a PC/Windows based environment.
- Three to five years administrative experience. Knowledge of working in a tertiary education environment would be an advantage.
- Outstanding people and communication skills including the ability to adjust to different audiences.
- Ability to build strong working relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
- Capability to work as part of a team as well as having individual responsibilities.
