Scholarships Administrator

Part time role working 18.75 hours per week providing administration support in relation to scholarships and prizes.

Mō te tūka | The role

Seeking applications for a savvy administrator to provide excellent service delivery in relation to scholarships and prizes to prospective and current students.

Based in our Scholarships Team, some of the tasks include:

  • Ensuring that scholarships are promoted, scholarships and prizes are administered, invoiced for in line with entitlements, paid and reported on in line with University policies and procedures.
  • Communicating with prospective applicants and keeping records up to date.
  • Assisting with ensuring the scholarships website is kept up to date with new scholarships and updates to current scholarship information (regulations and application forms).
  • Responding to queries at the front desk and by email from assigned shared mailboxes.
  • Inputting data into the student management system, preparation of electronic student files and assist with filing tasks.

This is fixed term, part-time role covering maternity leave ending April 2025 working 18.75 hours per week (0.5 FTE) based at our Lincoln Campus.  The remuneration range is $50,000 - $55,000 per annum, pro rata to 0.5 FTE (approx. $25 - $28/hr).

Kā tino Pūkeka/Whēako | Essential skills/experience for the role

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Relevant customer service and administration experience, tertiary sector experience is desirable but not necessary.
  • Experience in building relationships, with a strong customer focus.
  • Experience in interpreting and administering rules and regulations.
  • Experience in working with records with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrable empathy and respect for people from diverse backgrounds, ages and cultures.
  • Experience in planning ahead, prioritising daily work assignments and exercising good judgement in managing urgent requests and changes.
  • Certificate in Business or administration or similar is preferred.
