Position Overview

We are seeking to appoint a Professorial Chair in Cellular Agriculture to join the Riddet Institute Centre of Research Excellence at Massey University, New Zealand. The position is jointly funded by Massey University and AgResearch, New Zealand. This position will be located at the state-of-the-art new joint food science facility, located at the Palmerston North Campus.

The successful applicant will be expected to build a new internationally-recognised research capability in the field of Cellular Agriculture, by developing new collaborations, building cross-functional teams, securing external funding, and providing industry leadership in this field. The position includes significant base funding for postgraduate research for at least five years.

The candidate must have a PhD or equivalent qualification in a relevant area, with an outstanding track-record of high-quality publications and other outputs. The candidate must have at least five-years’ experience in a senior role in leading multi-disciplinary teams and supervising graduate students. A proven record of establishing and leading successful and enduring research collaborations across institutes will be desirable.

The position will offer an attractive remuneration package in line with the professorial (academic) scale of Massey University.

The Riddet Institute is a New Zealand Centre of Research Excellence (CoRE) that integrates partner organisations (Massey University (host), Auckland and Otago Universities, AgResearch and Plant & Food Research) and disciplines. Collectively, this leads to a “NZ Inc” approach to food research and generates knowledge and capability that transforms New Zealand and the New Zealand food industry.
