An exciting opportunity has become available for 1 year as our Residential Life Manager.  This is a 1 year fixed term live-in roll within our team at Wellesley Student Apartments on our City campus.  Working with the Residential Assistants to support our residents, if you are an insightful and collaborative professional who is passionate about the well-being and success of young people, we want to talk to you!

Our Residential Life Manager provides leadership, direction and management of our residential community engagement, community development, and the Residential Life program.  In collaboration with the Village Manager and providing guidance to the Residential Assistants, you will work to maintain a healthy student community and deliver programs that provide learning and personal growth opportunities for our students in residence. 

Your success in this role will be supported through;

  • A relevant qualification in a psychosocial discipline e.g. social or youth work
  • Sound management experience and a demonstrable commitment to delivering exceptional experiences to residents and other stakeholders
  • Experience in a tertiary learning environment, an affinity with young adults, and a sound understanding of the challenges students face throughout their tertiary education

Your familiarity with relevant legislation, your energy and passion, and your enthusiasm for cultural, pastoral and recreational Village life and the health and wellbeing of our students, will all contribute to your success in this challenging and rewarding work.

This role requires a commitment to operate outside of standard hours to respond to incidents (when rostered on Sunday - Thursday overnight) and deliver events.  While it's desirable that the successful candidate lives in the village (subsidised rent), as this is a fixed-term appointment, we are able to consider candidates who can meet this requirement in different ways, and can be discussed more during the interview process.
