Researcher/Project Coordinator - Manaaki Whenua

The purpose of this role is to provide research and project co-ordination support for scientists leading research in soil carbon and nitrogen storage/cycling and greenhouse gas emissions. The role includes liasing with farmers and other clients, fieldwork, data analysis and reporting.  

This position is open term, full time, reports to Capability Leader, Land Use and Ecosystems Team, and is based at our Hamilton site. 

You will possess a Masters or Post-Graduate qualification in soil science or related discipline. You will have knowledge of New Zealand soils, including understanding soil carbon and nitrogen stocks and flows. Research expertise in Organic Soil including their greenhouse gas emissions is required. You will have experience in conducting fieldwork and managing field and laboratory data.  Knowledge of New Zealand farming systems is required.  Ideally you will have excellent communication skills, be well-organised, and pragmatic with the ability to travel throughout New Zealand.
