Āu Mahi | What You Will Do
You will be involved in projects that require the development of scientific computing codes for cutting-edge research within a national research centre (QuakeCoRE), as part of a software development team of four people, who work closely with approximately 20 earthquake engineers. Work from this software team involves a variety of programming languages (most notably Python, C/C++, bash), the implementation of software on high-performance computing resources (National e-Science Infrastructure HPC resources), software integration and unit testing, and working collaboratively with PhD students, postdocs and academic researchers. Specific problems in earthquake engineering make use of advanced numerical methods to solve physics equations; and big-data analysis using machine learning. We adopt the latest software development practices for undertaking work and making our work open-source.

You must hold a Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., software engineering, physics, mathematics/statistics, engineering), have previous experience in software development and programming, be an independent worker able to show initiative, and be a valuable team member able to actively collaborate in this dynamic software team.

The salary range for this position is: Band 4 $72,266 - $94,614, Band 5 $91,171 - $111,281
