Position Overview

The School of Agriculture and Environment, Massey University, is seeking applicants to apply for the position of Research Officer in Companion Animal Nutrition for a three-year fixed term (FTE 0.50).  

This position aims to grow the world-leading research capability of the Centres for Feline and Canine Nutrition.  Your contribution will enhance the scholarly outputs and standing of the university by undertaking an effective programme of research, publication, and post-graduate research supervision.  You will liaise with external clients, carry out commercial research and attract further commercial research funding.

We require applicants to have:

  • A relevant PhD (or equivalent) or other post-graduate qualification - essential.  
  • Experience in animal research in a university or other tertiary teaching environment 
  • Experience with commercial research work, client management and working towards project deadlines.  
  • Animal husbandry and low-stress animal handling techniques - essential.
