Position Overview

The School of Built Environment, Massey University, Albany Campus, is seeking applications for a full-time Research Officer position, on a fixed-term contract to December 2025.  The position will contribute to the research activities of the School including in the MBIE funded research programme entitled “Creating capacity and Capability for the New Zealand Construction Sector”. 

A PhD in construction management, architecture, engineering, building science, civil engineering or similar, as well as a good record of research and publications relevant to Built Environment, including but not limited to construction process, construction IT and other relevant aspects of construction management research is required.

The successful applicant will have expertise in knowledge and data modelling as well as computer programming (including in Knowledge-Based Systems and other artificial intelligence applications).  They will need to demonstrate teaching and research experience in a university or other tertiary teaching environment.  A research publication record in reputable peer-reviewed academic and/or professional journals, and/or books suitable for appointment at this level is required.

The Salary Range for this role is at a Research Officer grade (for 2024), ranging from $81,172 to $103,595 (NZD). Salary will be negotiable by background/experience.
