The role

The prime function of this Research Fellow position will be to help develop, implement and report findings for the project “A co-designed pilot intervention informing the provision of supportive care for cancer survivors in transition from active treatment to follow-up care”.

Some key tasks include:
•    Help co-design a supportive care intervention
•    Collating, coding and analysing data
•    Provide Māori leadership for the project
•    Writing reports and articles

Your skills and experience

Essential:
•    Experience in conducting Kaupapa Māori research.
•    Experience in conducting literature reviews and qualitative research methods (e.g. interviewing, data analysis, reporting).
•    Excellent writing skills, including evidence of ability to publish scientific papers in scientific journals.
•    Excellent interpersonal skills - ability to relate to other researchers, stakeholders, patients and their families.
•    Understanding of and ability to provide leadership in Kaupapa Māori research.
•    Excellent understanding of Tikanga Māori.
•    Excellent understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Preferred:
•    A research degree (preferably a PhD degree).
•    A significant peer-reviewed publication record.
•    Experience in health-related research.
•    Experienced at public speaking.
•    Ability to communicate in Te Reo Māori.

Further details

This is a part-time (0.35 FTE), fixed term position until 30 June 2023, funded by a core grant to the CSRC by the Cancer Society of New Zealand.
