Position Overview
The School of Veterinary Sciences at Massey University invites applications for the position of Farm Services Clinic Receptionist/Administrator at our Veterinary Teaching Hospital’s Farm Services Clinic.
WHY YOU ARE RIGHT FOR THIS ROLE?
If you enjoy a variety of work, are all about interacting with clients and students, and know one end of a cow from the other, then this is probably the role for you. We are looking for someone who has a bit of information about production animals in their brain, and a lot of customer service ethos in their heart, these are non-negotiable skills. Being able to communicate effectively with a wide range of people, and be solution-focussed, is critical to this role.
As you will be the connector that brings us all together, and the conductor of our work, you must be able to react quickly to changing priorities and tasks, ensuring that our clients and students are well looked after. We require you to be able to show initiative and work under pressure because sometimes it can get a bit chaotic with our seasonal workload. We are looking for someone who can remain calm and in control when others are not and know how to have some fun along the way.
As the front person to our clinic, the hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 4.30pm. Occasionally you may need to work after hours, especially during spring calving when the phones are running hot.
WHY MASSEY?
The School of Veterinary Science is the only one of its type in New Zealand and is ranked in the top 20 of Veterinary Schools in the world. Working at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital will immerse you in a teaching environment very few get to experience, and you will be helping to ensure the future of animal health and welfare.
In addition to a base salary, Massey also offers up to 6.75% employer contribution to the UniSaver Superannuation Scheme; four weeks annual leave and five additional university holidays per year; free eye test & staff study for eligible employees, discounted membership to our fully equipped recreation centre and gym facilities as well as a comprehensive professional development and training programme.
