Job Type: FullTime
Deadline: 24 Mar 2024

Te Ratonga Tautoko Hangarau | Digital Services

Located in Ōtautahi | Christchurch, Aotearoa | New Zealand

  • Full-time at 37.5 hours per week (1.0 FTE)

Āu Mahi | What You Will Do

You lead a practice of test analysts and test automation specialists and take them on a journey towards Quality Engineering. You will work with product/project managers and Digital Services leadership to be the voice of quality within Digital Services, supporting teams with QA and QE resourcing with internal and contract staff. You will lead the team to develop and improve Quality Engineering processes and practices, and uplift automation capability. You will engage with external suppliers and partners to further team capabilities as well as provide resourcing, and support partners to engage with UC's quality practices.

Your experience in supporting projects to deliver quality outcomes will support and develop staff to grow their skills, and where required you will be able to step into "delivery mode" to assist projects directly, and act as an escalation and final quality gate when required. You will be involved in resourcing discussions with UC's high-profile projects to help determine project and business case requirements, budgets and timelines.

You will support Digital Services by bringing another facet to our project risk management and support our endeavours for release and environment management, and a "shift-left" in quality.

Mōu | Who You Are
You have extensive experience operating as a digital quality practice manager, managing quality analysts and engineers, and providing mentoring, guidance and career development, including a transition from manual to automated testing. You will be experienced engaging with internal stakeholders and external suppliers at a strategic as well as resourcing level. In addition, you will have experience as a test lead across very large digital projects.

As our team works in an agile manner, it's important that you are approachable, adaptable and enjoying working in a collaborative environment, with an eye for detail, and can communicate effectively.
