We have a team of highly committed and experienced facilitators based throughout the country who draw on current research and effective practice to build educators’ capability within kura and schools.

The role/Te mahi

This role presents a unique opportunity to join our Provisionally Certificated Teacher (PCT), Mentor and Overseas Trained Teacher (OTT) facilitation team with a key role in providing professional learning and development (PLD) to support PCTs to achieve their Tūturu/Full Practising Certificates alongside their mentors in schools throughout Aotearoa New Zealand.

In this role you will support PCTs and their mentors in schools and communities with effective pedagogical practice through a variety of responsive delivery methods, including workshops, cluster hui, on-line and tailored support to meet individual needs as they implement high quality, educative induction and mentoring programmes.

This role is based within Canterbury, with travel required within the upper half of the South Island to fulfil the responsibilities of the position.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting teachers at the early stages of their career. It is essential that the successful candidate brings a proactive, collaborative approach and is able to work independently and remotely as part of a team.

The successful candidate will also have:
•    Teaching qualification, registration and current practicing certificate.
•    Experience teaching or leadership in kura/schools.
•    Content knowledge of The New Zealand Curriculum, including in depth understanding of teaching and learning principles and relevant assessment theory and practice.
•    Teaching and professional supervision skills appropriate to working with teachers.
•    Driver’s licence and flexibility to travel within New Zealand.

This is a full time, fixed term position available until 1 December 2023, located in Christchurch and the wider Canterbury region.
