Our campus is the base for medical and postgraduate health education and health research in Wellington. We collaborate closely in our research and student programmes with the region’s hospitals, and other community health agencies.

The Campus has research strengths in a number of areas, spanning the spectrum through biomedical, clinical and public health. All the Campus’s academic departments are research active, and there are a number of well-established research groups.

About the role

This position is designed to take a leadership role within a project team, focused on delivering the operational readiness in response to the UOW redevelopment project. Reporting to the Project Owner (the Dean of the UOW Campus), you will also work closely and in collaboration with the Campus Development Senior Project Manager to ensure that the needs of the medical school are well understood and included in the medium term and long term solutions for the UOW Campus.

This fixed-term role will comprise of all aspects of day-to-day co-ordination and delivery of expertise data for the operation of the school during the medium term and long term solutions. The Project Manager Organisational Delivery will maintain a service outcome focus for the project.

Accountabilities include:
•    Taking a leadership role within the campus, and comprising of all aspects of day to day coordination, the Project Manager Organisation Delivery will work closely with the Project Owner ensuring the successful delivery of “fit for purpose” solutions.
•    Operating as the first line of contact for all stakeholders, this position will build partnerships required to create and maintain internal and external relationships necessary to implement and support the project successfully.

This role is the key representative/conduit between the user groups (internal customer) and the project team, driving the project towards key deliverables. In order to deliver results in a collaborative manner, experience working within complex teams and building/maintaining relationships whilst managing expectations will be essential.

Your skills and experience

•    You will preferably have a postgraduate degree or equivalent experience working in a project management role.
•    You will preferably have an in depth knowledge of the department/divisional operations or experience working operationally in a tertiary/health sector.
•    You will have proven ability to plan and effectively manage a wide range of work streams or projects simultaneously, often with competing priorities.
•    You will need excellent communication skills, the ability to operate autonomously yet collaboratively and be proactive in nature.

This is a full-time, fixed term position for two years.
