Project Manager
Provide leadership, technical support, analysis, programme and project management to the University, as part of our 2019 - 2028 strategy.
Mō te tūka | The role
We are looking for an exceptional Project Manager to work closely with our Senior Leadership Team to ensure successful management of a portfolio of activities that relate to institutional planning and reporting, and strategic priority project delivery.
We have a strong pipeline of impactful project work and are looking for a champion with excellent project management and stakeholder management skills so we can continue to deliver high quality outcomes for our students, staff and partners.
You will be responsible for planning, overseeing and leading a number of critical projects. To be successful in this role you will need to be delivery focused with a strong track record of facilitating business change. You will have attention to detail but not lose sight of the end goals.
Tasks of the role include:
- Planning and programme management - lead the Project Management Office to support strategic projects
- Ensure projects are clearly scoped and delivered to budget, time and scope constraints
- Ensure Project resources are well coordinated including visible and accessible information
- Business case writing and facilitation
- Financial management, risk management and reporting
This is a permanent role working 37.5 hours per week based at our Lincoln Campus.
Kā tino Pūkeka/Whēako | Essential skills/experience for the role
To be successful in this role you will need:
- A relevant tertiary qualification as well as a qualification one or more project management methodologies
- Demonstrable experience as a Project Manager
- Current knowledge and working experience with best practice project management principles, techniques and tools (e.g. Gantt charts, Issue and Project tracking software)
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
- Strong risk management capabilities
- Experience with the development and execution of project communication plans
- Experience working with senior stakeholders in large corporates or public sector organisations, in the delivery of complex projects and decision support
- Superb communication skills, with the ability to influence and affect change at all levels of the business
- Excellent report writing skills, including business case writing
