Position Overview

The School of Agriculture and Environment, Massey University, are seeking an applicant to apply for a two-year, 8-month fixed term, full-time position as Project Coordinator in Catchment Community Engagement and Outreach. 

The purpose of this role is to undertake and lead the organisation of educational and outreach activities including engagement with catchment communities, rural professionals and the local iwi/hapū in the “Catchment Solutions” project.  This position has been created to work with the project team to communicate the ‘Catchment Solutions’ project research findings to a wide audience at catchment community workshops, Fieldays, professional training, and online digital platforms.  This role will also support the ‘Catchment Solutions’ project team in planning, implementing, and reporting the project work programme activities, to the highest standard consistent with an institution of international standing.

A Bachelors or Master's degree in Agriculture, Environmental Science or related discipline OR proven experience in catchment community engagement, educational and outreach activities is essential.  Experience in engagement with catchment communities, rural professionals, and the organisation of educational and outreach activities is required.  Working knowledge of New Zealand’s agricultural systems and an understanding of New Zealand regulations related to contaminant losses and loads to freshwater bodies is desirable as is experienced in social media and other Communication tools.
