Programme Manager - Offshore
Teach & manage EAP programmes of study between Lincoln & our international partner in China working both locally and offshore.

Mō te tūka | The role
Teach and contribute to programmes of study between Lincoln University and our international partner in a joint institute offshore in Hubei, China.
The purpose of this role is to deliver courses, curriculum and their academic management, academic administration, student academic support & liaison with the international partner.
Some tasks of the role include:
- Academic management: Offshore delivery is successfully established & relationships are maintained, challenges identified and reported on through excellent communication.
- Teaching: Successful teaching and learning evidenced by peer and student feedback and student outcomes.
- Administration & Service: Administration is completed & service occurs in a context of collegial relationships with staff and the community.
- Student Success: An equitable culture of student success is fostered in Academic Preparation and Pathways.
The successful candidate will follow this timeline:
- June/July 2024: Commence at Lincoln Campus for a full orientation & induction programme.
- August 2024: Travel to China and teach a four-week English immersion course.
- September 2024: Commence an eight-week teaching course.
- November 2024: Return to Lincoln campus for the remainder of the fixed term.
This is a full-time, fixed term role ending February 2025 working 37.5 hours per week both in Hubei, China and at our Lincoln Campus. Accommodation will be provided while working offshore.
The remuneration range is set at NZ$115,000 - $120,000 plus a negotiable offshore allowance.
Kā tino Pūkeka/Whēako | Essential skills/experience for the role
To be successful in this role you will need:
- A bachelor's degree or higher.
- A teaching qualification in one or more of: Tertiary teaching, TESOL (for English-language teaching, a recognised qualification is obligatory), Adult education, Secondary teaching
- At least five years' experience in teaching tertiary level English for Academic Purposes with evidence of successful outcomes for students.
- Demonstrable experience in the development, moderation and delivery of curricula and assessment for tertiary and/or language learning students in alignment with current best practice.
- Recent, relevant experience (within 5-7 years) in offshore delivery of international partnership programmes as a sole/independent academic representative.
- Demonstrated outstanding communication skills across formal and informal channels and the ability to communicate effectively with multiple audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain and build key relationships in an offshore, academic context with all stakeholders.
- Demonstrated cross-cultural competence with proven ability to adapt course development and teaching approach to different cultural, pedagogical and administrative settings.
- Commitment to equity and diversity in teaching and learning and the adoption of strategies to ensure success for all students including international, Māori and Pasifika.
- A problem-solving mindset and demonstrated willingness to collaborate with colleagues positively and creatively. Able to manage oneself, empower others and work independently.
