Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Professional Teaching Fellow in Accounting to join the School of Accounting and Commercial Law at the Wellington School of Business and Government on a 3.5 – year fixed term contract.

The incumbent will be responsible to undertake teaching in a mixture of large and small undergraduate and postgraduate courses (face-to-face and online) and research supervision, assist with programme development and contribute to the effective administration of the School, including relationships with practitioner communities and other stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A completed PhD in a relevant field, or other relevant qualifications commensurate with the role.
  • Demonstrated evidence of experience with successful course and curriculum development.
  • Demonstrated evidence of skills in adopting different pedagogies and technologies for courses.
  • Demonstrated evidence of good oral and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work with students and staff from a diverse range of backgrounds.
  • Evidence of innovative and effective use of technology to enhance teaching and assessment practices.

Due to current border and immigration restrictions, applicants must be either: (a) in New Zealand and legally allowed to work; or (b) New Zealand citizens or permanent residents based overseas who are able to return to New Zealand.

It also has accreditations with major professional accounting organisations, including CA ANZ, CPA Australia, ACCA and CIMA.
