Who we are

The School of Physiotherapy Clinics provide services which advance, preserve and promote knowledge, critical thinking and autonomy of physiotherapy students in order to comprehensively meet the diverse current and future physiotherapy health care needs of the community.

The role

Our Dunedin clinic has an opportunity available for a highly motivated Senior Physiotherapist to work in our Balance, Vestibular and Dizziness Clinic.  In this role you will work with relevant stakeholders and manage a caseload referred to the clinic.  You may also be required to supervise undergraduate physiotherapy students.

Objectives of the role include:
•    Providing physiotherapy services and clinical teaching to a high standard.
•    Contributing to the School’s academic goals by developing, applying, and sharing expert clinical knowledge.
•    Providing leadership and development in areas of expertise.
•    Contributing to our team and the smooth running of the Clinic.

Your skills and experience

Successful candidates will have:
•    Current registration with the NZ Physiotherapy Board (required).
•    A relevant degree or postgraduate qualification.  Preferred candidates will have a Masters degree or above, or be working towards this.
•    Strong clinical skills with experience in neurology, vestibular rehabilitation and concussion rehabilitation.
•    Experience with supervision of students.
•    Experience liaising with clinical partners.
•    The ability to work autonomously and within a team.
•    A positive attitude and an ability to “think outside of the box”.
•    An interest in Māori health and a commitment to Tikanga Māori.
•    The ability to work to time frames, goals and in teams.
•    Excellent written and strong verbal communications skills (essential).
•    A positive attitude and capacity for initiative are necessary in this interesting and diverse role.

This is a part time (30 hours a week), fixed term position until 30 September 2022.
