We have an exciting 3-month, fixed term position for a Mechanical/ Process Engineer to join our Materials Engineering and Manufacturing research group, located at our Rotorua campus. Reporting to the Team Lead - Wood Science Design, the primary responsibility of this role will be to actively contribute your engineering expertise to the construction of a pilot plant in collaboration with an industry partner. This will include tasks such as planning, coordination, and technology transfer.

This is a short-term role, starting immediately and ending Thursday 29 February 2023. We are after a talented individual who is readily available to act as additional resource, supporting an increase in workload.

To be successful, you will be: 

  • Tertiary qualified (master's level) in Wood Process Engineering or a similar engineering discipline
  • Able to demonstrate proven experience in a similar role
  • Technically capable and mechanically minded
  • Able to think analytically and methodically to solve real problems
  • A team player with great communication, time management and prioritisation skills
