Ko waikoe? - Who are you?

You will have broad and in-depth knowledge of land use change and mitigation to support sustainable freshwater management under climate change. You will have demonstrated technical expertise in a relevant field and be able to work with other ecosystem modellers and a variety of stakeholders in the Bay of Plenty.

You will be a highly motivated researcher, adept at developing and conducting high quality research. You will be comfortable collaborating and building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders to disseminate research findings.

Ngākōreromōtetūranga - About the role

The research will seek to connect land use changes and mitigations to freshwater quality, ecology, and cultural values in the Bay of Plenty Region using multi-objective optimisation models and algorithms.

You will work as part of a great team at the University - the role will work with Associate Professor Deniz Özkundakci and Dr Frank Burdon within The School of Science and you will also be responsible to Toihuarewa - WaimaoriThe Bay of Plenty Regional Council Chair in Lake and Freshwater Science. Some undergraduate and postgraduate teaching may be required. The role is full-time, fixed-term, for three years and will remain open until filled.
