Postdoctoral Fellow - Pastoral Livestock Production

Work in our Department of Agricultural Sciences on this 18-month fixed term position. 

Mō te tūka | The role

We are seeking applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow to actively engage in collaborative research through analysis of soil, plant, animal and human samples in relation to health and markers of it. The position will advance research in pastoral livestock production and grazing management for environmental protection and human health.

This is an 18-month fixed-term position, working 37.5 hours per week based at our Lincoln Campus.

Remuneration for this role is $65,000 - $70,000 per annum.

Kā tino Pūkeka/Whēako | Essential skills/experience for the role

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • A PhD in a relevant field commensurate with the role
  • Experience with animal experimentation and biological/molecular markers of animal and human health, as well as microbiology
  • Experience in drafting research protocols, research plans and reports
  • Evidence of past publication of research in peer reviewed literature
  • An ability to analyse biological data, including inflammatory markers information
  • Clear evidence of statistical competence at a high level
  • Ability to manage and curate large datasets
  • Farming experience and animal management (optional)
