The Department of Computer Science & Software Engineering at Auckland University of Technology (AUT), situated within the School of Engineering, Computer and Mathematical Sciences, Faculty of Design and Creative Technologies, is thrilled to extend an invitation for applications for two (2) Lecturer/Senior Lecturer positions on a full-time, permanent basis. These roles are dedicated to the specialized fields of mobile systems and applications development, distributed and parallel computing, and networks and cybersecurity.
We are actively seeking candidates who possess a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields, with a demonstrated record of research excellence in the aforementioned or related areas. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in both research and teaching within one or more of these specialized areas, as well as relevant experience in academia and industry. A proficiency in the latest programming languages and technologies is essential to contribute to the department's ongoing advancements.
The appointed individuals will be responsible for delivering high-quality research outputs, contributing to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, and leading the development of academic programs. They will play a crucial role in mentoring junior faculty, enhancing the academic standards of sessional staff, and participating in departmental leadership activities. Additionally, there is an expectation to engage in significant research endeavors within their expertise areas, which may include securing research funding.
This role not only emphasizes academic excellence and leadership but also requires a commitment to uphold the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in curriculum development and the broader mission of the University. The successful candidates may also be given the opportunity for short-term teaching assignments at international partner institutions.
The start date for these positions is set for 01 July 2024. The terms of salary and workload will be aligned with the qualifications, experience, and contributions of the successful applicants.
