Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

We are looking for two Pasifika Engagement Advisers to join the Pasifika Student Success team. This team of six Advisers is within the Office of the Assistance Vice Chancellor Pasifika. The roles will be based in the Faculty of Law, and the Faculty of Architecture and Design Innovation.

These are high profile roles in which you will help the University to achieve its commitment to improving outcomes for Pasifika students by increasing student engagement and ensuring they receive the support they need to succeed and complete their course of studies. You will work with the assigned Faculty using established methods of holistic support practices and academic support programmes.

Ō pūmanawa - About you

We are looking for applicants with high levels of cultural competence and understands the challenges of completing a degree. Your knowledge of the challenge of studying, coupled with your experience in dealing with Pacific cultural issues will make you ideal for this position. Strong communication skills and flexibility are key success factors in these roles. You will also require a relevant tertiary qualification.

The positions may involve regular evening work; this will be discussed and confirmed with the successful applicant upon appointment.
