Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is recruiting a Lecturer (Teaching) in the School of Biological Sciences. This is a permanent, full-time position on the University’s Teaching Intensive Academic Career Pathway. As such, the key result areas are: Ako / Learning and Teaching; Ruawhetu / External Engagement; and Hautūtanga / Leadership.

The successful applicant will contribute to a range of courses within the School, as lecturer and course coordinator. Courses may include, but are not limited to, those within our Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Biomedical Science degrees. The successful applicant will develop into a leader of teaching and learning within our School, actively exploring and implementing advances in pedagogy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Co-ordination and associated administrative duties for Biology courses.
  • Scholarly activity in the field of tertiary education.
  • High quality and critically reflective teaching practice.
  • Curriculum enhancement.
  • Active support for increasing the participation and success of Māori, Pasifika and international students, people with disabilities, and other equity groups.
