Online Learning Designer

Design and develop high quality digital and online learning resources, activities and experiences for the delivery of excellent learning outcomes to students.

Mō te tūka | The role

We are seeking applications for an Online Learning Designer to join our project team. 

You will be working alongside our instructors to design and develop sustainable, accessible, and high quality digital and online learning resources, activities and experiences to ensure excellent learning outcomes to students.

Tasks associated with the role:

  • Design and develop technology-enhanced materials for online courses
  • Ensure teachers are supported and resourced with the appropriate skills and guidance to be effective online teachers
  • Use your skills in pedagogy and learning to transform traditional materials in meaningful, engaging, and high quality asynchronous online learning experiences
  • Design, plan and coordinate the development of online courses

This is a fixed-term role ending December 2024, based at our Lincoln campus working 37.5 hours per week.

Kā tino Pūkeka/Whēako | Essential skills/experience for the role

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • A tertiary qualification in education, teaching and learning, digital education, or a related field and 1-3 years' experience designing educational activities preferably in an online context.
  • Experience working in an education environment implementing appropriate pedagogies. High computing and web-based skills preferred. Previous experience working in online learning within higher education preferred.
  • Experience with the design and development of program curriculum and/or individual courses with a particular focus on assessment and learning for an online learning environment.
  • Ability to develop appropriate resource materials in a range of appropriate media.
  • Experience or familiarity working with educational technologies, Learning Management Systems and educational technology. Experience with Moodle preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently and collaboratively within teams including in challenging environments and under high pressure timelines.
