Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Mata Ahupae - Office Coordinator to join Te Taiako - Student Learning in a permanent, office based, part-time role. The role will provide professional and client-centred services to students and efficient and effective administration essential to the operation and promotion of Student Learning.

Key responsibilities:

  • To provide high quality front-line reception services to students, staff, and visitors to Student Learning.
  • To provide resource and operation support for the team, in conjunction with the other Office Coordinator.
  • To co-ordinate and support student leaders such as Peer Writers.

Ō pūmanawa - About you

As an Office Administrator you will be friendly, supportive, and use excellent communication skills when dealing with people from diverse linguistic, cultural, ethnic, religious and other backgrounds. You will be a motivated, client-focused individual who can take the initiative, work autonomously and effectively as a team member. You will be an excellent relationship builder with an ability to work under pressure to provide a high standard of service and contribute to a high performing team. You will also manage office resources, timetabling, data entry, and provide administrative support for the Student Learning team.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven ability to work effectively in a frontline, client centred environment.
  • High level and proven interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in the proficient use of Microsoft Office applications and databases, advanced use of Excel.
  • Proven ability to work with and support an effective team.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships.
