Position Overview

The School of Veterinary Science requires an enthusiastic person with an NZCS, BMLSc or Science based tertiary qualification for the position of molecular biology and virology Technician. Previous laboratory experience in the field of molecular biology and virology are highly desirable. 

To be successful in appointment you will have previous experience working in a PC2 laboratory - previous laboratory management experience is highly desirable. Knowledge of accreditation procedures and the ability to work with ISO 17025 guidelines for quality assurance is desirable. 

Experience with serological assays such as ELISA and preparation of samples for electron microscopy is a bonus. Other attributes include the ability to work as part of a team and good organisational and communication skills. Occasional weekend work may be required during semesters.
