Āu Mahi | What You Will Do
As Mechanical Workshop Technician you will provide high quality specialised technical services in the Mechanical Workshop, to staff and students in mechanical design, construction and support for teaching and research programmes.
Mōu | Who You Are
You will hold a Trade Certificate in Fitting and Turning, Toolmaking, Machining etc., (e.g. NZ Trade Certificate or NZCE), or accepted equivalent (NZQA Level 3).as well as having:
- Experienced (minimum 4 years) relevant trade experience within complex environments, including Experienced experience applying technical design knowledge and skills.
- Specialised trade skills and knowledge (particularly in Fitting and Turning, Toolmaking, Machining etc.), and a demonstrated wide understanding of engineering concepts.
- Ability to machine and weld a wide range of materials to exacting tolerances.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
