Maori Support Coordinator
As the longest-running agriculturally-based university in the Southern Hemisphere, Lincoln University's story begins with farming, but it certainly doesn't end there. As New Zealand's economy diversified, so have we. Lincoln University is here to enhance and enrich lives. To grow the knowledge of our students so they can shape a world that benefits from a greater understanding of the relationship between our land, the food produced from it and the ecosystems within it. With three academic faculties, one teaching division, several research centres and a range of corporate service units, the University draws its students from throughout New Zealand and from over 60 countries. Lincoln University has a student roll of around 3,000 and approximately 700 staff.
We have an immediate vacancy for a highly motivated and energetic individual to join our team on a permanent fulltime basis.
In this role you will be involved in managing approved projects, initiatives and other activities which contribute to improved Māori participation, achievement and success at Lincoln University. You will be engaging directly with students, academic departments, support services and monitoring student outcomes.
This role may be right for you if you have the following knowledge or experience:
- A strong understanding of Te Reo and Tikanga Māori
- Credibility in the Māori community resulting from previous experience of working effectively with Māori communities and organisations
- Demonstrated commitment to Māori development and advancement
- Proven ability to develop new initiatives and to manage a project through to conclusion in a manner that meets agreed outcomes
- Proven ability to establish and maintain strong and enduring working relationships that contribute to the achievement of organisational goals
- Proven ability to work collaboratively to achieve agreed outcomes.
Please apply online with your CV and cover letter.
