The role/Te mahi We are seeking a vibrant and energetic Library Assistant, starting their career in the library and information management sector. You will provide front line customer service, working within the Collection and Lending Services team. As a Library Assistant, you will be working part time (25 hours week) in the morning and early afternoon, Monday to Friday. Your role will involve providing customer service at our service desk and assisting with collection management and administrative tasks. Key tasks of the role include: Your skills and experience/Kā pūkeka me kā wheako Ideally you will be studying towards or have completed a Library and Information Studies qualification and be looking to gain experience in libraries. You will be passionate about providing the best possible service to our clients – staff and students at University of Otago Wellington and staff of Kenepuru and Wellington Regional hospitals. Our Wellington Campus's Medical & Health Sciences Library has an opportunity for a motivated part time Library Assistant to join our team.
• Providing a range of customer services to the Library users.
• Assisting with a range of collection management and administrative activities.
• Providing backup support for interlibrary lending and document delivery services.
• Contributing to the functioning of a high performing team.
• Customer service experience.
• The ability to prioritise tasks.
• Experience working in a Library or related institution.
• The ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
• Time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
