Āu Mahi | What You Will Do
Applications are invited for an academic continuing position within the subject area of Counselling. The holder of the position will share responsibility for delivery of the Master of Counselling programme,the Post Graduate Certificate in Counselling Studies and be willing to contribute to undergraduate and other programmes within the Faculty.

Mōu | Who You Are
The successful candidate will have:

  • minimum qualification Master of Counselling degree
  • full member of New Zealand Association of Counsellors / Te Roopu Kaiwhiriwhiri o Aotearoa (NZAC)
  • expertise in and experience with the Solution-focused brief therapy model
  • significant experience teaching at the Masters level in Counsellor Education
  • experience in coordination and development of Counselling courses
  • experience with and commitment to bicultural counselling and education practice
  • competence in computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • the capacity to work positively in a multi-disciplinary environment with a commitment to collegiality
  • Knowledge of, and the ability to integrate into teaching, e-learning and other information technologies is preferable
  • the ability to demonstrate an understanding of multicultural issues and to display a commitment to principles of the Treaty of Waitangi (or a willingness to acquire such an understanding)
