Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Lecturer and a Senior Lecturer to join the School of Engineering and Computer Science on a Five-year fixed term contract. The appointee will ideally begin in August 2023.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the development and delivery of courses in Software Engineering subjects across all four years.
• Be able to travel to China up to 20 weeks every calendar year and teach in China.
• Contribute to hautūtanga/leadership, administrative roles, and engagement with the wider community.
• Be part of an active, collegial team committed to equity and diversity, and aspiring to research and teaching that engages mātauranga Māori and upholds our responsibilities to te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Ō pūmanawa - About you

You will be a collaborative scholar-educator, committed to high-quality teaching at undergraduate level and experience in teaching students from different cultural and ethnic backgrounds.

Key Requirements:

• a PhD in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related area.
• Demonstrable teaching experience at undergraduate level.
• Working with students and staff from different cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
• Eligible and be able to travel to China.
