Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting for Senior Lecturer/Lecturer Pūkenga Matua/Pūkenga in Midwifery for the School of Nursing, Midwifery, and Health Practice.

The School is seeking a passionate early to mid-career midwifery academic for the role of Pūkenga Matua/Senior Lecturer Pūkenga/Lecturer in Midwifery to join our growing and dynamic school at Victoria University of Wellington within the Faculty of Health. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the inaugural year of the Bachelor of Midwifery. The School is uniquely located at Wellington Regional Hospital in New Zealand's capital city with experienced academics and strong relationships with national policy and health service stakeholders to grow your research platform.

The successful applicant will be expected to teach into the new undergraduate and existing postgraduate programmes in Midwifery and to provide postgraduate research supervision at Masters and potentially PhD level dependent on experience.

Ō pūmanawa - About you

The successful applicant will have a completed doctoral qualification and experience in teaching health professionals as well as supervising at the postgraduate level. They will have a record of scholarly research and commitment to working with research teams and seeking research funding.

This is a permanent position and commences as soon as possible.
